First this was described to be perfect for fans of Victoria Aveyard and Holly black. It’s already gotten my interest. Then we come to the first line “ All good stories start with bad decision.”
I have to agree whole heartedly! The flow of the story is very easy to read and I found myself completely invested. Zahura is our main character and she foreshadowed exactly what would happen! Characters like her are the ones who are really good people and feel quilt over little things but also want to venture out of their shell and be more in life. Or at least that’s how I see it.
This story did give me Red Queen feels with a splash of Hunger Games and that is a perfect mix if you ask me. The magic system is also interesting, our MC is a whisperer and she can hear animals as they can hear her.
Of course things don’t go as planned and our main character has found herself in a predicament! And then who does she end up talking with!?!? And it doesn’t end there, thinking she’d be disqualified she thought wrong!
The excerpt ended on a good part!! I need to know what happens!!!
