I'm not a fan of sci-fi, so I wouldn't want to read this series, but for someone who does like sci-fi, it is probably something they would enjoy. I like Dan Brown and the thrillers where the clues are slowly revealed, so it may be an OK read.
I do like that instead of the typical aliens from outer space theme that the other life forms are found underground, sort of like finding Atlantis but also finding it inhabited by another life form.
