Starts off a bit like Michael Crichton's Sphere. The portion I read made me want to find out more about the ship, the civilization and where it came from. Not a fan of the main character smoking but I can get past that. The writing was sharp and made me feel as if I was on the survey ship as well. I liked Sarah right away and felt the author conveyed her essence quickly and adeptly. Looking forward to reading more.
