The cover seemed very interesting to me, but I didn't really understand what was going on until I read the blurb of what the book was about. When sampling the book, I loved the beginning and it drew me in and made me want to know more about the abyss and the creatures in it and how they related to the rest of the story. As someone who grew up near the ocean, I could relate to Sarah's love of the water while she's on the boat. The entire sample left me desperate for more, to see what was going to happen with the characters and what exactly was at the bottom of the ocean.
