I found this preview to be an enjoyable little snippet of the book. It clearly defined the world of the story and set out a teaser what was to come. That being said, I didn't find anything about it to be particularly original. The something lurking at the bottom of the ocean storyline is not really anything new. There's generally at least one book or movie with that plot per year. This seems to be more of the same. Still, it intrigued me enough that I'll definitely read the rest of the book.
