I've heard so many great things about this series by Louisa Luna, so I was really excited to read The Janes. That being said, this one didn't quite live up to the expectations that I had.

Alice Vega is a private investigator that has a reputation for tracking down the missing. Together with her partner Max Caplan, this duo is tasked with identifying two teenage girls who are believed to be victims of sex trafficking as well as find those that are still missing.

This was definitely a slow burn mystery versus a fast-paced, heart racing thriller. It is clear that Vega and Caplan have a great dynamic together, so watching them work a case together was fascinating. I love that Vega is a badass and can definitely hold their own.

I want to go back and read book one since it sounds like it had more of what I was hoping for than this one.
