I received a bound galley of The Janes from Doubleday. I was excited because I had already read and enjoyed Luna’s previous book about Alice Vega, Two Girls Down.
Alice Vega is a strong and capable female character. She is quirky, but likable. She and her partner, Cap, make a great team. I love the realistic father/daughter relationship between Cap and Nell.
The subject matter is very timely. Illegal immigration and human trafficking are very much in the news right now, making this novel really hit home.
Luna is an excellent writer. She is very descriptive, making her work come alive for the reader.
This story is very moving and has a satisfying ending. I liked the twist at the end. It is a quick read and holds the reader’s attention throughout. It will not disappoint!
