Has all the ingredients for a great "true crime" story
At first, the narration is very odd. Inclusive of the reader, saying "our girl" is this or that. I wasn't sure what to make of it. Then we delve straight into murder victims and my interest is immediately piqued. I appreciated that we were given clues right off the bat and already felt the ignition for Alice Vega to solve this/ catch the culprit. I like how the author sets up all the players in this game in solving the mystery, the detective on the case, the lawyer, the retired cop- all separate stories at first but soon to intertwine, it's great build up.
