This sample of the book grabbed my attention and left me wanting to know more. I enjoyed the way the author introduced the characters and it seems we will get to know them pretty well as the story progresses.
I also liked the way the author incorporated information from the first book in the series, which I did not read. You are given just enough information so that you know the background without ever feeling like there was just a big information dump.
