The synopsis was interesting enough—young jane does and a female PI. And I will preface this by saying this isn't my preferred genre. But I thought the first chapter was awkward. I didn't connect to it and felt it started off almost like a YA romance with "meet our girl." That just seemed weird. Maybe it will connect later on in the story, but it threw me off. And then I just couldn't get into the story. I liked that it dived right into the mystery, but I didn't get any sense of Vega. Maybe if I read the first one I'd get into this one better. But so far, I'm not feeling her nor connecting to the story. So based on the first impression, this would be a pass for me.
