I loved it!
This book absolutely blew me away. Adam and Caleb’s friendship turned romance felt very real, with mix-tapes, all the ups and downs of high school, coming out of the closet, and an actual superpower. Shippen’s description of depression struck a chord with me, and I enjoyed the way Caleb felt and visualized different emotions, giving a concrete image to things that we often feel on the daily. Similarly, I appreciated was that Adam wasn’t “cured” of his depression after getting together with Caleb, but it was still very much a part of his life and their relationship. I think people will be able to find a piece of themselves in their story, and feel torn between wanting to shout this book to the world and cradle it close to their heart. Overall, I absolutely loved it, and eagerly await for the next installment in the Bright Sessions series.
