As a fan of the Bright Sessions podcast, I was excited to find this book, especially since Caleb was one of my favorite characters. I really enjoyed getting to hear more about his and Adam’s love story.

I love Caleb because the big guy who is sweet and caring is a favorite trope of mine and adding extraordinary empathy just ups the stakes. I also love how close Caleb is to his parents and little sister. Positive family dynamics are hard to find in some young adult books.

Adam and Caleb’s relationship is sweet and sincere. They are both award and don’t know how to share their feelings and it makes the romance plot line very sweet.

The only parts of the book that fell short for me were the parts that tried to pull more of the podcasts story line into the book. I understand that the book is taking place in the context of the podcast storyline, but the brief references to other plot lines feel clunky and would not make sense without the reader being familiar with the podcast.
