The more I think about this book the more I realize that I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I did. The Infinite Noise is a book that's definitely worth a read, but don't get into it expecting the first book to be anything but a contemporary story with a little twist. It's mostly a development and exploration of Adam and Caleb's relationship as well as their emotional states throughout the time. It's an interesting take on x-men kids, but I do wish both main characters were better developed as individuals. We only get to know Adam and Caleb throughout their relationship — outside of it, they become one-dimensional characters without established personality or views.

I do believe the second book will pick up the pace, so I'll definitely going to keep an eye on the sequel.
