The author's voice is just fantastic: entertaining and funny, realistic, and detailed without over-explaining. I love the characters already, and as a student myself I find the depictions to be pretty darn accurate. I feel the pain, awkwardness, and stress through the page with how relatable and touching even the excerpt was of him talking to Adam, and I liked the unique superpower. In an age of superheroes leaping off buildings and blowing things up in the Theatres, it's awesome seeing a story of every day people continuing on their everyday lives with their powers. Also I love empaths, they're such a cool and under-explored branch of powered people. I will definitely be getting my hands on the full book one way or another!
