The Immortalists was not what I had initially expected it to be and the book itself ended up being a bit of a letdown overall. While the cover illustrations are interesting and beautiful, I expected the book to carry on that same overall feeling but it was such a disappointment in the end. The story overall has to do with blurred lines of reality an death as well as coming of age stories and living life in general. The overall character development is not very good and the storyline is incredibly basic and boring, which again was not at all what I had expected based on the cover of the book alone. Now I truly know to never judge a book by its cover because not all of the stories will be as beautiful as the cover.
