That is the premise behind Chloe Benjamin's book The Immortalists.
Four young siblings in 1960's Manhattan seek out a fortune-teller and each discover the day that they will die. and each character lives their life in a way to come to terms with that date.
I loved that each of the four siblings got their own narrated story in the novel. They each had their own strong voice despite how some had tragic outcomes. I loved that the next siblings stories kept the timeline moving forward into the future, into the present time in the 2000's.
Benjamin is a fantastic writer - the characters were each so developed and unique in their own rights. I loved the full circle of each siblings story. i loved being provoked into thinking how i would live my life if i knew the date i'd die.
