I enjoyed reading The Immortalists, the story of four young siblings and a moment of fortune telling that may or may not affect their future. The book tells each sibling's story in turn, while mixing in the original moment that seems to set their fates.

The characters are well-rounded and believable. I enjoyed the descriptions of the setting and the time periods.

The Immortalists will lead you to ponder fate versus free-will. How much of our life experience is predetermined, or how much to we determine based on assumptions that are made at an early age? And do we realize how much of an impact we have on the people in our lives and in our surroundings?

For those who like a good story of family, give this book a try.
