It's difficult to articulate everything that I love about this book - however, I know that I'm going to be recommending it for a while.

Four siblings living on the Lower East Side in the 1960s visit a woman who tells them when they are going to die. The rest of the novel spans decades as we follow the siblings to see how these prophecies affected the way they lived their lives.

The Immortalists is beautifully written with realistically-complicated relationships. As a NYC resident, I am always a little biased towards NYC-focused books, but I just fell in love with these characters.

I liked that the author posed BIG questions - fate and prophecy, etc. but left it all up to interpretation. There wasn't a lot of philosophical navel-gazing. Just all-around, a wonderful book!
