This was so beautifully written! I'd read mixed reviews on The Immortalised by Chloe Benjamin so I didn't know what I'd think about it, going in. But I was pleasantly surprised when I discovered that it's a beautifully written story that really makes you think about life and it's meaning. The story begins with the main characters, four siblings, visiting an old woman that is rumoured to be able to tell a person the exact date that they will die. Being children still, they are of course curious to find something out if this is true, and if it when they will die. If course we all know what they say about curiosity. The story goes on to show the lives and perspectives of each of the four siblings and how this knowledge could May be affect them through their lives. The story was really well-written and sad at times but it really made me think and I took a lot away from it. I recommend this to anyone that enjoys literary or speculative fiction.
