Young siblings being told the date of their death sounds like a fascinating premise. I was put off by the first few sentences and in general, found the descriptions more distracting than world building. And, the children seemed a little too mature for their ages. However, their venture to the psychic is intriguing, and of course, what they're told will haunt them for the rest of their lives. But, did the woman tell them the truth?
This short excerpt left me curious to find out what happens next. I have a feeling that things are about to go from bad to worse, but there are so many ways this story could go. The excerpt left off when the children are grown and the story not quite in full swing.
