The characters seem interesting & different enough that I’d keep reading if I had more pages in front of me. And the opening of the story’s a bit of a kick in the teeth—knowing the characters have learned the supposed dates of their deaths; even knowing from the blurb that that was going to happen, it was nothing like I expected.
