Summer drama has never been so enjoyable! I loved The High Season - it was just what I needed to get me in the mood for summer, and it made me even more despised the rich and popular Hamptons crowds! This book had me engrossed from beginning to end, and I finished it in two days. The prose is excellent, at times hilarious, and the plot is well-crafted and very clever!

Ruthie seems to be losing her mind. Her marriage is over, her 15-year-old daughter is struggling and distant, her career is in jeopardy, friendships are being checked, and the summer is shaping up to be a whirlwind. Ruthie's Hamptons-style home, which she shares with her daughter Jem, is rented out to the wealthy during the summer to help her pay for it the rest of the year. Adeline Clay, a rich artist widow, leases her house and, unwittingly, disrupts the entire summer for nearly the entire town of Orient.
