I almost put off reading this until I was on vacation and could read it on the beach since the cover and first impression made me think that it would be the perfect beach read.
As I delved into the heart of the novel, I discovered that, while it would be a great book to pick up while lounging on the beach, I also found that it was gripping and intriguing in a way I did not expect. I especially enjoyed the format and set up of chapters/sections and think that this contributed to the overall mood of the book in a positive way.
I especially enjoyed the evocative writing of the author and felt as though this helped to really draw me into the book and encouraged me to keep reading until the very end.
