I really enjoyed my Bookish First preview of the first two chapters of "The High Season ".

The book seems to focus on topics associated with financial conflicts and with inter-personal conflicts. It is clear from the get go that the relationship between the characters and the house ebbs and flows with seasons and time just like their relationships with one another ("divorced" couple and parent/child relationships) likewise ebbs/flows and changes with time.

I did not expect it, but the book also seems to have some humorous parts where the inner thoughts of the characters are revealed and the train of thought is relatable and yet humorous.

I am quite sure the story of all those associated with the home (owners, renters, neighbors, and friends) will continue to take the reader on an interesting journey and I'd like to read more.
