Excellent, really enjoyed this book. Received an ARC from BookishFirst. Twelve year old Emily Calby is the sole survivor a brutal attack on her family. On the run, Emily lives in parks and survivors by her wit. She makes her way on buses and trains from city to city and makes the trek to Memphis for a fake id. She meets Lucas "EZ" and two become friends. Lucas helps Emily by teaching her survival skills with weapons to stay alive on the street. With the help of Kiona, Lucas's girlfriend and James, IT genius, 12 year old Emily has a false sense of security. What ensues, is fast paced and engrossing. I couldn't put the book down, but had to at times and couldn't wait to finish it. A lot of OMG and Oh, No, moments. At times, I forgot that Emily was 12. I look forward and can't wait to read Emily Calby #2.
