I was really intrigued by the concept of this plot. It started off with a bang! Emily's family is murdered in their own home and then she is on the run. And then it starts to get pretty unbelievable.

While it was a quick read, this one just didn't do a whole lot for me. I wasn't riveted by the characters or storyline. It all seemed a bit too unrealistic.

Favorite thing was probably Emily's relationship with Lucas. He's this big, bad ex-gangster but has a soft spot for this young girl because of his past.

It was okay. Not something I'd recommend unless someone was specifically looking for a thriller of this type. I really wanted to like it more. I will most likely let my journey with Emily end with this book.
