For some reason the first part of the description had me thinking of Varity by Colleen Hoover. Then the rest of the description had me thinking of an Assassin like the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas. I love a good Revenge story and I love when the character goes from a wimpy person to a bad ass.
