Interesting concept, but a bit too far fetched
Emily, our 12 year old main character, is on the run after two men killed her family. She makes the acquaintance of a former gang member who teachers her to protect herself as she sets out to find justice for her family.
The concept sounded interesting, and the initial set up for the story was intriguing. The idea that a 12 year old could escape murderers, find a gang member to teach her to kill people, and be on the run is somewhat hard to believe. It's all a bit too much of a stretch for me to enjoy the novel. I also found the writing a bit clunky.
