An elite private school suspense mystery that brought the drama and sleuthing to life! "Scream. Float. Crash." the only tidbit of memory Spencer Sandoval has throughout most of the book trying to piece together what happened that led to the car crash and Chris Moore dying. The "Salters" of Peyton Salt's Get Salty: True Crime Podcast have their pitchforks ready as the rumors swirl that Ethan Amoroso, Spencer's newly former boyfriend is the one responsible for Chris's death. Ethan, rich kid, on the Headmaster's list, and deemed reckless as he was held somewhat responsible for another "accident" that had happened the year previously, is now the center of this whole tragedy and is taking the blame but Spencer feels like something just isn't right if only she could remember.

As Spencer investigates with Jackson Chen (Ethan's best friend), she slowly starts to put the clues together that the crash didn't happen as everyone believes which leads to even more secrets revealed. I liked Spencer's character in this besides just sleuthing she also learned more about herself and finding what she needed to make herself happy. Ethan turned out to be less self centered than I thought his rich kid character would, and there a few surprises from some of the other characters I won't reveal. I liked how "Murder She Wrote" was thrown in there putting something old into something more modern.

I wouldn't say this is so much a thriller as I found it to be more mystery, and touches of suspense until the end when suspense was put in full gear to wrap up the ending. The whole flow was intriguing to keep the story going and not fall flat. I wished the ending was a little more developed like the rest of the story it seemed to end so fast with not so much detail put into the undoing, but I don't think there was really any loose ends left. I would've liked to see more done with the first accident that happened at Ethan's house the year prior to tie in better to the rest of the ending but overall I gave it 4 stars.
