This was fine I guess? It was a quick read with short chapters, but overall I found it really predictable and simultaneously completely unrealistic. It is YA, so trying not to be too harsh for its simplicity, but there are very similar YA mysteries out there that do it so much better.

Spencer wakes up in the hospital after a car crash that killed a student in their school. Her ex-boyfriend was driving, and she doesn't remember anything about the crash, but she's certain (um...why?) that he's innocent and sets out to prove it.

I figured out the main twist on p. 31, and it drove me absolutely crazy that apparently no investigating was done for this fatal car crash, because it should have been immediately obvious.

The whole thing about the Headmaster's List was also kind of weird. It wasn't necessary at all. The same was true for the multimedia approach -- the podcast, the couple articles, the recording of Spencer and Jackson interviewing each other -- it didn't add anything and felt like it was trying too hard to be the next Good Girl's Guide to Murder.

I did like the dog, and coming from a cat person, that says a lot!

I hate to be too negative, but I think I'd skip this one.
