I'm intrigued by The Headmaster's List by Melissa de la Cruz, a young adult thriller. It starts off, in the cover design and intro text, clearly conveying that four teens are involved in an accident. At the end, one's dead, one's in jail, one's in rehab -- and one graduated.

Within the first few pages, the reader learns who's dead, but the circumstances of the car crash are unknown. A local true crime podcast has taken on the case, and might uncover more answers.

I have heard great things about de la Cruz's books, but I was a little worried by the synopsis of this one that it might be a bit too dark for me. I like the writing in the first look and so will keep an eye out for early reviews -- this one might just be a fast-paced must-read!
