The story definitely has a haunting vibe going on and the author did a great job of giving just enough tidbits of information to keep the reader hooked and guessing. I was initially drawn to Eddie but Hendricks ended up surprising me. There are a lot of cliches here but they all worked.

Hendricks has moved from the city to this small town and things aren't so bad. The kids at school seem to welcome her with open arms and although she's still dealing with the events of her past and trying to find herself again after getting out of a toxic relationship, there's something trippy about her new home.

When she's enlightened by her new friends as to the notorious history of the house her parents are trying to flip, Hendricks starts to unravel the truth behind the rumors and dark stories surrounding the place.

This part gets creepy good on so many levels. The ghosts, the voices, the apparitions and illusions are intertwined throughout the story and keeps adding layers and layers to the story.

Then there's the characters. Really really good! Overall this delivered on the scary scale and throw in little romance, humor and Nancy Drew solving skills and this was highly entertaining!
