So I read and somewhat loved The Merciless. Now I've only read the first book in the series, but I always thought about going back. The book had such interesting twists and turns, just what I was looking for. Meanwhile, this one struck more of a chord with me. There was something that just felt so iconic about this narrative from the start. My one weird complaint from the start was how many times I had to read "Philadelphia" vs. "Philly," but hey we're allowed to have weird complaints, right? I am happy to always have a character representing Philly. Anyway, back to the book. I am hoping to see Danielle Vega continue her writing career as the YA horror genre expands because I think teens deserve some great horror options other than just like Stephen King (who of course is amazing still).
