It grabbed my attention just a few lines in! I like books seen through the eyes of children, Whistling in the Dark, and Whistling Past the Graveyard. I would hope the rest of the book is just as good as the beginning!
I felt like I was in that basement....could feel the dark and dampness. And when her heart was beating fast, so was mine.
I’m an animal lover, too, and could picture myself, or even one of my own kids vanseering to the new of a kitten in distress. Then rethinking every move I made the last five minutes and whether I should stay or run....but still feeling the pull of the need to save the kitten and prove to my brother that I’m braver than he is!
It made me want to find out what happens in the rest of the pages!
