Holy crap. This is one book that you shouldn't read at night, but that's a problem if you don't start this one early enough in the day because you won't be able to put it down.

Right from the beginning, you're hooked with the death of Eddie's little sister, but you still don't really know what's going on at that point because then you're plunged into the world of Hendricks. A million things went through my mind about why her family up and left Philadelphia to come to Steele House, but I didn't have them completely right, which I liked, because it kept me guessing.

I loved the subplot with Connor but most of all, I fell head over heels for Eddie. I did, however, want more at the end. What did her parents think about the fire? Did the town blame Eddie, continuing the bullying and abuse, thinking he did as revenge to all of those at the party? I thought that a few lines about how Eddie was never able to escape the bullying, even in death, would have been a great addition.

But, I also wanted more in general! I wanted the excuse for how the fire started and the reactions. What did her friends say about what happened to them? I know Portia doesn't speak any more, but what about Raven and Connor? Did the town believe them or think they were all crazy and maybe on drugs that night? Someone clearly would have had to talk about what happened. What did Hendricks parents think? And lastly, why did they all dissolve as friends? I have a feeling that it was because the girls couldn't accept Eddie and Hendricks loved him, but Connor wasn't like the girls, as far as the bullying goes.

I have so many questions left but I am so glad that I got to read this book. Danielle Vega will be an author I keep my eye out for from now on. Her writing style pulls you in immediately and she truly knows how to tell a good story! The Haunting is one book that I will be recommending to everyone!
