I went into this book expecting it to be a spooky/scary book. While it was spooky, for me, it wasn't spooky/scary enough. At first that was a let down because I was expecting a Stephen King type novel but once I realized it wasn't going to be like that, I really enjoyed it. The suspense and tension was very good and I liked the haunted house premise more than I thought I would (due to it being overdone). One thing I had an issue with was the main character Hendricks. She would constantly make bad decisions or withhold information and I guess she just didn't seem like a realistic character to me in her behavior and choices. I didn't really care about the love interests but the descriptions of the hauntings were done really well in my opinion. Overall 3.5 stars and I would recommend this to anyone who likes spooky reads.
