This is a second in a series for this author, I did not read the first book but was not lost nor did it take anything away from this story. I was intrigued by the cover of the tarot card. The murder of a man found hanging under a bridge with the tarot card in his pocket puts our inspector on the trail of the killer in this story taking place in Paris. The trail leads us to white supremacy and corrupt police officers, will this group claim the inspector as their next victim? The story unravels and despite some scenes that were uncomfortable to read like rape, infidelity and incest molestation the story takes you thru what the inspector is weaving thru as he tries to solve this crime no matter what the circumstances. I did not like his involvement with some of the women in the story, nor the number of characters you can to recall. A bit to overwhelming in the story. I won this book and would be interested to see where the inspector's direction is going in this series.
