To start off, I didn’t realize that this book is actually the second book in the series about the Police Inspector Paul Mazarelle until after I had already red the book. Fortunately, this book can definitely stand alone and is still a great read completely on its own. Even though it was the second book, I never felt lost during the story because I had never read the first book.
Overall, I did enjoy reading this book. It was quite an interesting story and I liked it. I thought the writing was pretty good and the story had pretty good flow to it. The book was okay but I really didn’t like the characters much, especially the main character, Paul Mazarelle. I didn’t like the way he acted or some of the decisions he made and overall he just gives me bad weirdo vibes and I don’t like it.
This book wasn’t my typical read but it was still okay and was done fairly well. Although I did expect a bit more from it in the spooky murder mystery aspect from reading the description and I was a bit underwhelmed by that in the end.
