A bit flat

When I read the first look of this book, I was expecting something far more exciting and grander than what I ended up reading. I loved the first book in the series, and was fully expecting to love this book as well. And, as someone who does tarot readings a lot, the fact that this book was titled after the Hanged Man card, it just seemed like everything was coming up roses and I'd have a book I'd love on my hands.

Instead, it fell flat. I found myself being confused by the amount of people and places being introduced - something that I did not struggle with in the first book - and if I'm being honest Mazarelle did not feel like the same character he was in the last book. He makes decisions that seem dumb - like falling for one of the suspects even though he knows that she is lying and manipulating him - and then there is no real resolution to that part of the story.

Overall, it was just flat, but I will probably end up reading on if there is another book after this one.
