I’ve been disappointed by a lot of thrillers lately but this one has restored my faith in my favorite genre!

The Half Sister follows Lauren, Kate, and their mother Rose. One Sunday during their weekly lunch together, a woman shows up on their mother’s doorstep looking for Harry, their father. Unbeknownst to her, Harry has been dead for almost a year. This girl, Jess, reveals that she is Harry’s daughter. This comes as a shock and threatens the family in more ways than one. Everyone has a secret to hide, some bigger than others, and some know more about Jess and her motives than they’re letting on.

This book is a wild ride that I couldn’t put down. I was completely invested the whole time and the story kept getting better and better. There were quite a few plot twists I didn’t see coming and so many secrets to reveal. The pacing was excellent, revealing just enough to keep the story going but not enough to make the final reveal obvious. I continually questioned who knew what and what was happening. You don’t know who to trust and that’s what makes this an excellent thriller.

If you’re looking for a fun domestic thriller to pick up this summer, centering around family drama and secrets, this is the one for you.

The Half Sister comes out June 16, 2020. Go and pre-order a copy now, you won’t regret it!
