Twisty but a little over the top

I started this one on audio (thanks @Libro.fm) and I really enjoyed the audio. Honestly if I hadn't had the audio, I probably would have given the reading of this book two stars. I found the plot to be too twisty - I've found lately that I get annoyed when authors try to add in plot twists that don't seem to fit (Lauren's side storyline could have cut about 50 pages from the book and I don't think they would have been missed).

I liked the premise of the book: a woman shows up at your family's Sunday dinner, claiming to be your father's daughter. She's 16 years younger than your older sister but neither sister truly know what to believe. They take opposite sides (I believe her vs. there's no way) and neither truly know what this girl's motive is. The book takes twists and turns and makes it so I don't really like any of the characters. I kind of figured out what would happen, but it was hard wading through unnecessary "twists" and information to get to the one that was brought up, dropped, and then ended up (obviously, I was waiting...) being important in the end.

This was fast-paced, but a little too over the top for me.
