Kate and Lauren have always had a tumultuous relationship. One closer to mom, one closer to dad. The loss of their father has not helped the situation. When Jess turns up claiming to be their half sister, family secrets are brought to the surface. The family will never be the same.

I would say this is more domestic suspense/family drama than thriller. The alternating POVs from Kate and Lauren held my interest throughout the book. Each woman wanting what the other has, no one really happy with their life. I couldn’t connect with either MC, which always causes me to struggle with a book. I would have loved some chapters from Jess’ POV.

I was able to predict most of the twists in this one, but it was still an enjoyable listen. There is one large problem I feel was glossed over in the book (DM if you’ve read this because I have feelings 😂). The unanswered question left me a bit frustrated at the end.

I am super interested in family trees and new genealogy testing. That aspect is what brought me to this book in the first place. Sandie Jones was influenced by the capture of GSK, so I couldn’t pass this one up.

If you love a domestic suspense novel, you’ll want to pick this one up! Thank you to LibroFM for my copy!
