The author sets the stage on a family which is turned upside down by a knock on the door one afternoon. The Half Sister has a promising start, though the characterization seems to be leading down a different avenue than the book appears to travel at first glance. I like the cover art, as it captures the feeling of the novel quite well. Overall, I am intrigued enough to want to get the book from my local library or bookstore.
