Clementine's 16th birthday is today. This means she transitions into a Sundown Girl. She and her sister, Aster, have spent the last several years living in servitude in a house of prostitution. When you turn 16, you have to take your first "brag," basically you're auctioned off for your virginity. Aster is one year older than Clementine, and knows what Clementine's life will be like. At least they'll get to spend more time together. When Clementine's first night has disastrous results, everything changes. I believe this is where the story really begins.
