The packaging and marketing actually describes pretty well what the book is like. It takes the misogyny of a setting such as Margaret Atwood's "The Handmaid's Tale" and mixes it with both YA and fairy-tale elements. The female characters are strong so far (considering their circumstances) which is a bit surprising for a YA novel.
