This is my first novel by this author and she did not disappoint. Very heartwarming and yet a sense of sadness throughout. Eliza grew up under the roof of a single mom, not knowing her her father was or is. Her mother is a troublesome soul and you never know if you can believe what she says. She has two women who are her godmothers, Olivia and Maxie. Just as Eliza is about to turn 18, she loses her mother. The relationship between Eliza and her two godmothers, Olivia and Maxie, is beautiful. I love that the book is based in Australia, Scotland, England and Ireland. While Eliza is on the hunt to find out who her real father is, Olivia and Maxie might have secrets to tell about her mom years ago. I love the almost mystery feel of this but overall, this book was hard to put down. Enjoyable novel with lots going with Eliza. Engaging and warm read with. Anyone who picks this up will fall in love with the characters.
