This starts out on such a happy note that I knew there had to be an "oh, no" moment, and indeed that moment arrived. That being said and although one of the moments was tragic, I wasn't disappointed (except with the tragedy) because the moments only lasted for just the briefest of moments and then life went on to the next stage of the book and of life. The reader isn't stuck in details, we are experiencing or really just glimpsing Eliza's life. We know she can't be happy in her job or apartment she is just going along to get along. Fate rears its head, and demands that Eliza move on with her life. Her boss (not a nice person - AT ALL) has sold the company without notice or a chance of employment at the new company, her landlord has sent her notice that she must vacate within three months. And then, as always, her godmothers come to the rescue with a new adventure. Then...the preview has ended yet I want to finish the story...now!
