Female friendships conquer all
Just those first few pages and my heart broke - really need to read the rest soon to repair it!
I love stories of female friendships that withstand all tests and The Godmothers seems like exactly that type of book. While I can't imagine losing a parent so young, I did relate to Eliza's urge to prioritize stability and the known over all else, apparently even her own happiness.
I'm excited to see where this story goes. I expect it to be a tearjerker for me. Sometimes that's just what I need though!
