One thought that kept coming back to me over and over (and over) again centered around the book's title in relation to the story this book tells. "The Girls" as opposed to "The Women" throws me every time I think back on this book. With the given title, one would think that we are diving into a story about adolescents. However, the story is about young women, mostly assumed to be 18+ years old. HOWEVER, given their mental state and struggles they come across as much younger than they are assumed to be here. So perhaps, "The Girls" then is more appropriate. Crazy, right? So who are they, which are they, why are they?

The more and more that I dove into this book, I was wrapped up in this battle between "The Girls" and "The Women." And I remained hooked for the unique writing style that Zgheib chose to tell their stories.
