The Girls at 17 Swann Street by Yara Zgheib

This book was a four star rating for me!

I loved the premise of the book and how it flashed back and forth between her currently life living at 17 Swann Street and before she was anorexic and then it included a time that she was moving into becoming anorexic.

I liked the fact that it talked about her life as a ballerina. With how she had to fit into a certain mold and size and how she needed to be thin. Then her boyfriend and the time was questioning her weight and what she ate.

I enjoyed the husband aspect of the story. How he ignored it until it got to the point where he couldn’t any more. I also enjoyed that he was really supportive and visited with her every day.

She at the end talked about how anorexia affected her perception of herself and the way she lived her life. And then as she was growing through the book you could tell that she was able to look at her self in a more positive light and say that it was okay to eat which in the beginning of the book you could tell that she wasn’t ready for that.
